What is GLP-1?
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar and appetite. GLP-1–based medications, like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro, mimic this hormone; they stimulate insulin, slow digestion, and increase feelings of fullness, which is why they are popular for weight management.
So, what about Yerba Mate?
Yerba Mate is a South American herbal tea that may naturally boost GLP-1 activity.

Some research suggests it can reduce appetite, support weight balance, and improve metabolism and inflammation markers - though most studies have been done in mice, not humans (yet!).
A few things to know:
1. It’s a tea, not a medication - so don’t expect the same results. Still, Yerba Mate is packed with antioxidants and can boost energy and focus.
2. GLP-1 drugs are injected and work at much higher levels.
3. Yerba Mate contains caffeine, so sip mindfully.
Where to get Yerba Mate: most health food stores carry it, and it’s also available online.
Always check with your doctor if you are on medication before enjoying Yerba Mate.
And, of course - nothing replaces a balanced diet and active lifestyle! 🌿
Keep sipping!😃🍵
